The state president of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), Gaspar Quintal Parra, denounced the appearance in Ciudad Caucel of a banner “in the style of organized crime with a clear message of gender-based political violence against a candidate.”

He indicated that it is also a message of threat to his political party and is intended to generate fear and alarm among citizens.

According to a statement, a blanket with the message “How deep will it be buried this June 2?” It was installed just below a PRI advertisement billboard with the photograph of the candidate for local representative for District 8, Melissa Figueroa. The message included the image of a tombstone.

In this regard, Gaspar Quintal maintained that this is a threat very similar to those that appear in the cities and states where Morena governs, where insecurity and violence have skyrocketed (like Campeche and Quintana Roo, just to mention a couple).

“That is why we suspect that Morena is behind this serious intimidation because the only thing it has dedicated itself to in these five years is to generate fear and threats to the population.”

“We will not allow this to happen in Yucatán, because here we are committed to peace and security,” he emphasized.

Gaspar Quintal lamented that Morena and its allies are desperate because they will lose the elections, which is why they resort to intimidation in the style of organized crime that plagues the country.

He recalled that the PRI warned that people from outside, linked to Morena, are coming to our state with these malicious practices to tarnish the election day.

“That is why we tell you firmly and clearly: They will not pass and we will not allow them to steal our peace of mind.”

“Citizens are not going to allow ungovernability and crime to reach the state of Yucatán, that is why they will go out to vote en masse,” he stated.

Quintal added that since the aforementioned message is a threat to the safety of the candidate Melissa Figueroa, they will file the corresponding criminal and electoral complaints to punish those responsible.”

It should be noted that in another bulletin it is reported that the authorship of these advertisements was claimed by the group “Let’s save Mexico now that we can.”

According to the document, among the ranks of that group are “ordinary citizens fed up with the bad governments of the PRI and PAN political parties.”

It specifies that the “billboards”narco-messages” were placed at key points in Ciudad Caucel, and the Altabrisa areas.
