Men working in the construction of a house found the bones of two people buried in El Cuyo

Construction workers got a big scare when working on a property on Calle 33 when they found two human skeletons. They quickly notified the municipal authorities who proceeded to cordon off the area.

Mr. Luis Enrique Caamal Valencia, 42 years old was working with his colleagues in a house located on the aforementioned street, behind the Health Center, when they found human remains while digging to make a foundation.

They thought it was just a bone, but as they continued digging, more appeared until they realized that they belonged to two bodies.

The builders, on their initiative and unaware of the protocols to follow in this type of situation, collected most of the bones and proceeded to place them in a black plastic bag. They later notified the municipal police officers who went to the site and cordoned off the place.

The facts were reported to personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office, the State Investigation Police, and the Semefo, who arrived hours later to carry out the corresponding procedures and remove the human remains.

It was learned that the bones are already many years old, so the State authorities will be in charge of carrying out the corresponding investigations.

Some people commented that they could be the remains of pirates since ships used to arrive in the port of El Cuyo many years ago.
