Burglars arrested in García Ginerés; homeowners stopped them when they tried to escape

Two suspects were arrested when they tried to flee after allegedly robbing a house in the García Ginerés neighborhood.

The arrest was carried out by the owners of the home, who with the help of one of their employees pursued the alleged criminals, stopped them, and later handed them over to the police.

According to Diana N’s testimony, around 4 in the afternoon on Tuesday, May 21, one of her employees passed by her father’s property, which is located in the García Ginerés neighborhood, near Colón Avenue.

When the employee was passing by the place he noticed that there was a group of people on the property who were removing furniture and valuable objects from the home. The worker called the woman and explained what he was seeing, so he approached them and with the phone on speaker asked them who they were and why they were taking things out of the house.

“Mrs. Diana hired us,” one of them reportedly responded. The worker told them that was not the case, because Mrs. Diana was on the phone and denied that she had hired them.

“At that moment they run out, get into their vehicles, and begin to leave. So I told my worker to chase them with his motorcycle and he started chasing them,” Diana “N” explained.

She pointed out that the alleged criminals advanced several blocks and it was near Colón Avenue where she and her husband managed to block the way to one of the vehicles, but the other managed to flee the scene.

“I got out of the vehicle and approached them, I started yelling at them, I was very upset. I got into his truck and told him that we should go back to the house where they got the things from, he had the truck full of furniture and even the air conditioners. When we returned, my husband called the police and in less than 10 minutes a three police vehicles arrived and the suspects got detained. I am very happy with the response of the police. Thanks to the authorities the case could be solved.”

There were two people in the truck, a man and a woman, she was in the back hidden among the furniture and the subject was driving. According to the complainant, while searching the car, the police also found out they were carrying drugs.
