A brush fire on the Mérida-Chetumal highway reached the Kanasín corralón, consuming cars that were already considered scrap.
Several vehicles ended up damaged in a private corralón in the municipality of Kanasín, located at kilometer 10 of the Mérida-Chetumal highway. The final damage count was a total of 46 units destroyed.
The fire started in the brush but gained strength and spread to nearby land. Neighbors made the report to the police authorities, through the emergency numbers.
Firefighters from the Ministry of Public Security came and after a period of work, they managed to control the flames. The affected vehicles were at the scene because they were already considered scrap metal.
