20-year-old gunned down in broad daylight in Puerto Morelos

A 20-year-old man was murdered by multiple gunshots in front of a convenience store in Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo.

A young man, approximately 20 years old, was shot dead while he was on board his motorcycle in front of the Oxxo in the Villas La Playa neighborhood, in the municipality of Puerto Morelos: the victim received at least five gunshots.

The events occurred at approximately 1:00 p.m., when municipal police personnel received the report of firearm detonations; in addition to an injured person in the middle of the street.

Minutes later, the police arrived at the scene where they found the young man: who had at least five wounds caused by a firearm projectile; so they requested medical services as soon as possible.

Private paramedics arrived at the scene and confirmed that the man no longer had vital signs, so the area was widely cordoned off by preventive personnel. In addition, they requested the intervention of the municipal police.

According to the version of some witnesses, the now deceased was sitting on his motorcycle looking at his cell phone, as if trying to locate someone, when two individuals approached him on another motorcycle and one of them began to shoot at him.

They added that the attacker shot at least six times and then fled with the help of his accomplice who was driving the motorcycle; Therefore, citizens immediately notified the 911 emergency number.

Personnel from the Ministerial Police arrived at the scene to begin the corresponding investigation file to try to locate the murderers, so they began by requesting footage from security cameras from nearby businesses.

As usual, no arrests have been made concerning this homicide.
