After being on pause because the Canadian government decided to once again request a visa from Mexicans who want to visit that country, the problem has already been resolved for university students who are interested in a study trip to that nation.

The first group of Yucatan University students will leave for Canada next Wednesday, April 3.

According to local university students, at least from the University of Valladolid Yucatán (UVY), four young people had to carry out various procedures. They traveled to Mérida, where Canadian consular authorities arrived, to receive the university students’ documents.

According to what they commented, during March, the documents were received, including the passports they delivered, and they requested fingerprints, photographs, and everything that was required. Then, they got an online notification regarding the approval of the procedure.

In Mérida, they also summoned Uady students who would also travel, and the process was the same.

The students will meet on Wednesday morning in Mérida, where they will receive their visas and from there they will leave by bus to Cancun, where they will take the flight that will take them to Canada.

In this way, the visa problem is solved, after the State government intervened with the Canadian government to continue with the university mobility project launched this year.

The next group is expected to travel on April 27 and will include students from Valladolid and Merida. They will be joined by personnel from the General Education Secretariat of the State of Yucatán (Segey).

Meanwhile, the students prepare to make their trip. It is known that they have received indications of the place where they will be housed in Canada and the mobility they will have. They are being provided a pass to board public transportation trucks free of charge from the place where they will be housed to the universities where they will work with Canadians.
