Yucatecan mother gives birth in an ambulance

On Sunday, April 14th, a girl was born inside an ambulance from the Ministry of Public Security (SSP). Mrs. Ana Gabriel T. U., 32 years old, and 38 weeks pregnant, was at her home in the municipality of Halachó when the contractions began.

Municipal Police officers went to the property, took the woman into a patrol car, and transferred her to the SSP Y-41 ambulance on the road to Maxcanú to take her to a hospital.

However, on the way the woman went into labor. Next to her was her husband José Santiago P. C.

Given the imminent delivery, the ambulance was parked and paramedics Manuel Sánchez May and Cielo Almeida Canul attended to the delivery.

In the ambulance, a girl was born with vigorous crying and good coloration of her integuments. They provided him with the first care and then continued the journey to the IMSS hospital in Maxcanú. Mrs. Ana Gabriel commented that this was her third pregnancy.
