Yucatecan businessman burned to death inside his vehicle

A tragic accident took the life of jeweler businessman Gerardo Vidal Cruz this morning, who was burned to death inside his vehicle near the community of Kikil.

According to the report obtained, around 4 in the morning on March 7, the state police received the report and when they arrived at the scene, the black car was already in flames. The firefighters put out what was left and found the driver inside.

They investigated until they found that it was the Valladolid businessman based in Tizimín, belonging to the family of the “San Román” jewelry group.

The vehicle was traveling on the Mérida-Río Lagartos highway and did not realize that it had reached the intersection and continued, passed by the base of the sign, and crashed into some trees.

The car overturned and caught fire without the driver being able to get out and he died at the scene. Agents of the municipal police and the investigating state police arrived at the scene to begin the corresponding procedures as the personnel of the State Attorney General’s Office and the forensic doctor arrived.

He was a leader of the local Chamber of Commerce and is currently president of the Valladolid Chamber of Commerce.
