Yucatán is positioned in second place in the entire country with the lowest unemployment rate.
Our state registers an unemployment rate of 1.0%, which is lower than the national rate of 2.3%, which reflects the results of the economic policies that offer sources of quality work, better-paid jobs, and social security for Yucatecans.
In the unemployment report issued by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), corresponding to March, it is reported that the above meant a reduction of -1.2 percentage points in unemployment and an advance of 9 positions in the national ranking compared to the same month of 2023.
The national institute highlighted that in the monthly comparison, Yucatán registered a decrease of -0.33 percentage points and an advance of 3 positions compared to the previous month, that is, February of this year.
In this way, these results demonstrate the history of change and transformation that is being written in Yucatán with a historic boost to the state’s economy, promoting its advantages and benefits to attract more world-class companies that offer more and better jobs which increase the quality of life of all Yucatecans.
In the 5 years of the Government of Mauricio Vila Dosal, it has managed to attract more than 350 investment projects from sectors such as Information Technology, aerospace, real estate, agro-industrial, construction, logistics, among others with internationally renowned brands such as Accenture, Amazon, Walmart, Airbus, Heineken, Uchiyama, Woodgenix, Preh and more; who invest in a decentralized manner, generating important sources of employment within the state.
The results reflect that 2021 was the best year in economic growth and job creation, while, in 2022, an unprecedented number of foreign direct investment and tourist arrivals was reached in Yucatan, among other relevant indicators.
