World Book Day will be celebrated at the “José Martí” Cultural Center in Mérida

Within the framework of the celebrations for World Book and Copyright Day, this Saturday, April 20, at the “José Martí” Cultural Center in Mérida, different free activities will be carried out to promote reading, such as workshops, exchanges, presentations and book sales.

The appointment is at 4:30 p.m., when the following events will take place:

At 4:30 p.m. the workshop ‘Fanzine for those who’ will be held, taught by Lizeth Ek Guillermo, in which fanzines will be made with literary texts.

From 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. three activities will take place: “Pages and Petals”, “Story Machines” and the sale of books and other editorial material.

From 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., a book exchange will take place.

At 7:00 p.m. the presentation of the book “Martín Marfán, fue del gallinero” by Silvia Molina.

All the events are free admission.

International Book Day is a commemoration celebrated every April 23 worldwide to promote reading, the publishing industry and the protection of intellectual property through copyright. Since 1988, it is an international celebration promoted by UNESCO.
