On the weekend, with more than 18 stands of local and national chefs, they will be presenting the Grill Festival in Puerto Morelos, thereby positioning the destination for its culinary offering that is reporting a boom.
Armando Alvarado, president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac), in Puerto Morelos, mentioned that they expect more than 300 people this April 6, thus closing the holidays, in an event on the beach.
“The purpose is for visitors, especially tourists, to have a culinary experience since different dishes are presented by having chefs with their specialties, but everything will be grilled, which is a different option from what can be found in restaurants like ostrich, lamb, suckling pig,” he explained.
This seeks to promote the gastronomic sector, which on this occasion will have chefs from Cancún, Puerto Morelos, Guadalajara, Querétaro, and Playa del Carmen, to name a few.
Puerto Morelos is growing and is positioned as one of the points for gastronomy, and the arrival of new brands is even expected in this tourist destination, this year alone it is expected that there will be between seven and eight new restaurant openings.
The event is being promoted hand in hand with the Cocineros por Quintana Roo collective, in this way promoting local talent and ingredients, thereby carrying out this type of project, but that generates a profit.
Recently, the Mexican Caribbean Gastronomic Festival was held in the destination, with a successful journey, which positioned the destination more, in this way cuisine is being promoted and attracting more gastronomic tourism.
Currently, in Puerto Morelos, they have just over 250 restaurants, of which 150 would be in the hotel zone, although with the arrival of tourists to vacation rentals, the urban area of the port is positioned and this generates culinary options.
