Secretary General of the UN Tourism inaugurates forum in Cancun

Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa welcomed the Secretary General of the UN Tourism, Zurab Pololikashvili, to the heart of the Mexican Caribbean and to Quintana Roo, which is home to the UN Tourism International Forum “Tourism and Culture: a movie relationship.”

The world tourism leader expressed his satisfaction at being in Quintana Roo, a destination that he recommends visiting for many reasons, the warmth of its people – “who make you feel at home” – its culture, gastronomy, and nature.

“Mexico is a safe country, it is in the Top 5 of the countries most visited by tourists. The people of Quintana Roo and their governor, are doing a great job together,” explained Zurab.

Mara Lezama reiterated that in this new era of tourism in Quintana Roo this International Forum will contribute to the economic and tourist diversification of the 12 local destinations.

“This new era offers unique experiences, prioritizes culture and the environment, promotes economic sustainability, and focuses on achieving shared prosperity,” said the head of the Executive.
