As recently published in The Yucatan Times, counterfeit peso bills had been detected in the city of Valladolid, Yucatan.
After the public report and following up on complaints made on social networks that a person had entered several businesses in Valladolid, and tried to buy with counterfeit bills, the authorities arrested a couple related to these events.
Agents of the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the Municipal Police Directorate, began to carry out the corresponding investigations into this scam and on Thursday, April 18th, units of the local corporation managed to locate the suspect when he was walking through the streets of the city, accompanied by a woman.
At the time of his arrest, several counterfeit bills of different denominations were seized, so they proceeded to arrest and secure both of them, and then make them available to the corresponding authority, for the legal responsibilities to be determined.
