Petróleos Mexicanos confirmed the death of one worker

After the explosion recorded on Saturday, April 6th, on the Akal-B marine oil platform, located in the Campeche Sound, Petróleos Mexicanos confirmed the death of one worker.

Likewise, he reported that a total of 13 workers were affected, of which five had first and second-degree burns, two were seriously injured, two were stable with minor injuries, and the rest were discharged.

Through a statement, the oil company said that five of the affected workers belong to the Mexican company itself, of which two had first and second-degree burns and are stable. Two others suffered bruises and their health is also stable; and one more, due to its severity, will be transferred to Mexico City for treatment.

Three other workers belong to the DIAVAZ company, who after being evaluated at the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) hospital, were discharged.
