New flights to Quintana Roo are announced at the Tianguis Turístico

New national air routes will be implemented to Quintana Roo, including a flight between Felipe Ángeles Airport and Chetumal through Viva Aerobus, as well as two more new flights to the Tulum airport with Aeroméxico and Volaris.

Walfred Castro, Communication Director of Viva Aerobus, explained that a daily flight to Chetumal is being promoted as part of the AIFA growth plan, and the capital of Quintana Roo is an opportunity to attract more tourists.

He said that they continue working to recover routes such as Acapulco with Cancun, which currently operates only seasonally, to consolidate the flight as a frequent route, as happens with Cozumel on its route to Monterrey.

In the case of Aeroméxico, the company will connect with the new “Felipe Carrillo Puerto” International Airport in Tulum with two daily flights starting on May 2 of this year.

Meanwhile, starting this week Volaris began selling tickets for the Guadalajara-Tulum flight, which begins on December 4.

These agreements occurred within the framework of the Mexican Tourist Tianguis that takes place in Acapulco, Guerrero, where more meetings are being held with airlines such as Volaris and American Airlines, in addition to Vivaerobus and Aeroméxico, to specify at least four new routes to the airports of Quintana Roo.

Just in recent days, a Volaris flight to McAllen was confirmed, which will begin on July 3 with two frequencies to the Cancun International Airport.

Currently, the state of Quintana Roo has four airports connected to 42 cities in the United States, 20 in Canada, 18 in Latin America, and 24 national routes.

The state’s infrastructure places it in a top position in the country by attracting the largest number of international tourists. According to the latest figures from Inegi, in February alone 6.6 million visitors arrived in Mexico.
