Municipal police officer saves a teenager who was drowning in El Cuyo

Farid Manuel Zabalegui Marín was the Municipal Police officer who became a hero by rescuing a 15-year-old girl who had been dragged along the beach more than a hundred meters out to sea, the events occurred in the port of El Cuyo.

The cries for help from the bathers who arrived this Friday at the port of El Cuyo to enjoy the warm waters were the signal for several agents from the local corporation to come to see what was happening. When the officer realized that a person was drowning, he entered the water to rescue him while other people threw a life preserver from the dock to speed up the rescue.

The young J.A.C. 15-year-old girl was pulled to the shore by the police officer with the support of other people. Fortunately, the intervention of the guardian of order was timely and the young woman was fine, as was announced by the municipal paramedic after her assessment.

The minor’s mother, Angélica Canché Yam, thanked everyone who participated in the rescue so that her daughter was safe. They pointed out that they came for a walk since they were from the Dzonot Carretero police station.
