Motorist hits the stands of a soccer field in Mérida; injured people reported

A young woman lost control of her car and hit the metal stands of the soccer fields of the Marista University, located in the Periférico, causing injuries to several parents.

The incident took place at 6 p.m. when training for the school’s minor soccer categories was taking place. Many parents were watching the training sessions, when the young woman crashed her vehicle into the stands, without the causes of the accident being known to date.

The impact caused several parents to end up with minor injuries, such as bumps and bruises; while a middle-aged woman and a girl were seriously injured, although they were reported stable.

Those present immediately called the emergency number 911 and moments later three ambulances from the Ministry of Public Security arrived, whose paramedics assessed those present and proceeded to provide the necessary medical assistance. Some stands were left lying on the spot, as well as the black vehicle in which the driver who caused the incident was traveling. No arrests were reported.
