The Truth, Memory, and Justice (Verdad, Memoria y Justicia) Collective declares that it does not lose hope of finding them alive or dead.

At least 106 relatives of missing people make up the Truth, Memory, and Justice Collective, none of whom have found their relatives alive during 2024.

Romana Rivero Ramírez, president of the collective, declared this year that six new families have joined, each one looking for their own victim, which have disappeared mainly in the northern area of Quintana Roo:

“For the most part, the disappearance has occurred more frequently in Cancún, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and Chetumal. 45 in Cancún, in Playa and Tulum we have 26, and from there between Carrillo and Chetumal it is the other number that remains.”

The interviewee highlighted that among the victims there are people from Mexico City, Querétaro, Guanajuato, Reynosa, Monterrey, and from countries such as Colombia, and Honduras.

Families search for their relatives in the jungle, in prisons and hospitals every week, while investigations at the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) are constantly being carried out.

Rivero Ramírez clarified that the victims came to the entity mainly for work, and then she did not hear from them again.
