The country once again exceeded 100 murders in one day, registering 101 victims in 24 hours, the highest number in April, which accumulated 1,283 murders until Wednesday, April 17.

Mexico once again exceeded 100 murders in one day, registering 101 victims yesterday, the highest figure for April, which accumulated 1,283 murders until Wednesday, in preliminary figures from the daily report of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC).

Most of the victims of intentional homicide that occurred yesterday were concentrated in the following states: Guanajuato, 14; Tabasco, 13; Veracruz, 9; State of Mexico, 8; Mexico City, 7; Michoacán, 6, most of these states (except for Guanajuato) are governed by the Morena political party.

It should be noted that the country’s capital reached its second highest number of murders so far this year, where the incidence of this high-impact crime increased for the third consecutive month.

The states with the highest number of homicides during the month of April are: Guanajuato, 162; State of Mexico, 120; Baja California, 92; Michoacán, 78; Morelos, 71; Chihuahua, 63; Nuevo León, 63; Jalisco, 62; Veracruz, 44; Mexico City, 44; Sonora, 43; Warrior, 42; Oaxaca, 36; Colima, 33; Zacatecas, 27; Tamaulipas, 22.

On average 75 people have been murdered daily in the country so far in April.
