Mexico closed March with drought in 57.5% of its territory, according to Conagua, which highlighted that this occurs at levels ranging from moderate to exceptional, due to the lack of rain.
Likewise, through a statement, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) of the National Water Commission (Conagua), noted that, with an accumulated 7.34 mm, last month became the sixth driest March on record.
While, with the same cut-off as of March 31, the organization reported the following levels of moderate to exceptional drought according to the eight regions into which the national territory is divided:
Northwest-North Pacific: 48.2%
North: 71.5%
Northeast: 51.3%
Central-West: 51.6%
Central-South: 84.4%
Gulf of Mexico: 69.5%
South Pacific: 51.6%
Yucatan Peninsula: 16.6%

At the same time, the cases of Coahuila, Michoacán, Nuevo León, Oaxaca and Veracruz stand out, where some parts are registered without any level of drought.
