The Government of Yucatán continues with the planting of maculís in the Tourist and Gastronomic Corridor of the Historic Center. There will be 150 trees, a process that is carried out gradually.
For this stage of arborization, personnel from the Secretariat of Sustainable Development (SDS) supervised the planting of 16 specimens of maculís in pots previously conditioned with suitable substrate and once placed the plants were covered with extra soil and watered with water to invite the population to contribute to the care of these trees.
It should be remembered that the placement of these trees includes the section of 60th Street that goes from 45th to 61st and part of 47th through Santa Ana Park and will be carried out gradually.
The macules that will be planted were born in bags, were grown in the sun, and are the most suitable species for the Tourist and Gastronomic Corridor because when they grow, they will make up an attractive tunnel of pink flowering.
In addition to the 150 trees, ornamental plants will also be planted in the median of 47th Street and 56-A and 60; as well as new reforestation in the roundabout at the top of Montejo, which when expanded will have more ornamental plants.
It is important to highlight that, for the planting of these trees to be effective, plants were acquired between 7 and 8 years old with fairly developed roots, so the risk of mortality is minimal; Likewise, an irrigation stage will be carried out so that within 4 weeks the plants will be completely established to begin growing. The Tourist and Gastronomic Corridor in the Historic Center is a work that will connect the Plaza Grande, the Parque de Santa Lucía, Santa Ana, and the Great Park of “La Plancha”. The State Government is in charge of the section that starts from 60th Street, on the corner of the Plaza Grande, to the Santa Ana Park and a further section on 47th, between 60th and 56th, including the Remate de Paseo roundabout. of Montejo, for which 174.3 million pesos are invested.
