Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal continues the promotion of the commercial advantages of our state, now in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he held meetings with representatives of some of the largest operators of special economic zones in that country and the world, as well as with members of the local government with the objective of strengthening exchange relations and promoting the development of Yucatán and the Technological Wellbeing Pole project of the Port of Progreso.

“What we are doing in Abu Dhabi is meeting with representatives of the Special Economic Zone projects around the world that have been operating successfully, for decades, so we want to take their experience, knowledge and good practices to implement them in the Development Pole project that is being developed together with the federal government to continue creating the well-paid jobs that Yucatecans need in addition to promoting the characteristics and commercial advantages of Yucatán,” Vila Dosal explained in his message.

It is worth remembering that, as a result of the Governor’s efforts before the Government of Mexico, the creation of the joint project of the Technological Wellbeing Pole in the Port of Progreso was approved, so when its construction begins, it will be the eleventh industrial park with tax incentives in the country, which will be added to the other ten of this type that were made as part of the Transisthmian Train plan.

On his fourth day of this trade mission, and after various activities and meetings in Germany, the Governor held a meeting with representatives of AD Ports Group, a conglomerate dedicated to the development of special economic zones, digital, logistics, maritime and ports in Abu Dhabi , in order to learn about their experience and bring the best practices to our state in addition to establishing international exchange relationships to improve standards and at the same time develop industry 4.0 in Southeast Mexico.

AD Ports Group is one of the largest holding companies with a broad portfolio of large companies covering a wide spectrum of key sectors of Abu Dhabi’s diversified economy, such as the digital sector, cities and special economic zones, logistics , maritime shipping and ports, with special emphasis on connecting sea routes and trading partners.

Subsequently, Vila Dosal held a working meeting with the Deputy Minister of Economic and Commercial Affairs of the UAE, HE Saeed Alhajeri, and with the Ambassador of Mexico in that country, Luis Alfonso de Alba Góngora, to discuss the development of the Technological Pole that seeks to be implemented in Yucatán, as a joint project with the federal Government, as well as to address the role of our state as a reference in sustainable projects and to strengthen exchange relations between the United Arab Emirates and Yucatan.

The Governor also held a meeting with representatives of Kezad Group, where he explained the advantages and characteristics of Yucatán that have contributed to attracting various investments in addition to learning about the best practices of this operator of special economic zones to implement them in Yucatán.

Kezad Group is the largest provider and operator of economic zones, value-added business services, staff accommodation and fully integrated industrial real estate solutions in the UAE and the world.

In addition, the group has 12 economic zones, located in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Al Dhafra region, where it offers an ecosystem that combines world-class transport infrastructure with multimodal connectivity by road, ports, air and national railway networks, with potential for duty-free trade within the region and advanced technological platforms that integrate port community systems with economic zones.

It is worth remembering that as part of his international work tour, Vila Dosal recently held several business meetings with representatives of international companies such as Google Cloud, Startup Program, Sovereign Cloud and LoRa Alliance, within the framework of the Hannover Messe Fair, in Germany, where he presented the advantages competitiveness, legal certainty, security, quality of life, educational offerings and qualified labor that our state has to offer.
