The beneficiaries, including Alejandro Castro Jiménez Labora and the Jiménez Labora Prieto brothers, were linked to López Beltrán through photographs from social events where they appeared together.
These contracts were reportedly awarded to three companies sharing the same address in Mexico City. The companies, AZ Gerencia de Proyectos, Organismo Promotor Logístico, and VEA Arquitectos, are said to have received contracts from the National Water Commission (Conagua) and the Secretariat of Agrarian, Territorial, and Urban Development (Sedatu).
The projects involved work on lands where the Texcoco International Airport was to be located, a project later cancelled by President López Obrador. The lands are now being developed into an ecological park and the new General Agrarian Archive.
In response to these allegations, President López Obrador has vehemently denied any wrongdoing by his sons. He stated in a press conference that his sons “are not corrupt” and urged them to withstand the accusations and avoid any provocations. He further dismissed the reports by Latinus and Mexicans Against Corruption and Impunity (MCCI) as baseless.
