In Yucatán there are no cases of measles so far, reported the state Ministry of Health (SSY) through the Department of Epidemiological Surveillance.

According to the state health authority, some symptoms of measles are fever, exanthema (reddish rash with hives) that spreads from the head to the trunk and extremities, cough, cold, irritation, and redness of the eyes, as well as general malaise.

The SSY emphasized that if one or more of these symptoms occur, it is important to go to your health unit to be evaluated by professionals and not self-medicate.

From April 1 to May 31, the vaccination coverage recovery campaign is carried out, whose objective is to maintain the elimination of measles, poliomyelitis, and congenital rubella syndrome in Mexico.

This is possible by applying missing doses in children from two months to four years old with the hexavalent vaccine, and from one to nine years old with the MMR (measles, rubella, and mumps) vaccine.

To guide the population, the SSY made available the 2024 universal vaccination scheme for children under 10 years of age, which is available in all health units. Finally, the agency reiterated that in general the other vaccines included in the Universal Vaccination Program should be applied according to age.
