Free Canine and Feline Sterilization Day in Chicxulub Puerto on April 30

On Tuesday, April 30, starting at 8 in the morning, the Free Canine and Feline Sterilization Day will be held at the municipal facilities of the Chicxulub port, as reported by the deputy director of Ecology, Augusto Navarrete. Hevia.

“This campaign is possible thanks to the coordinated work between the City Council of Progreso and the Coordination of Medical Health Services in Yucatán”, said the municipal official, commissioned by Mayor Roger Gómez Ortegón.

The quota is limited to 100 animals, and to access the service, Navarrete Hevia explained that the owner must present an official identification to access the service.

Pets must come healthy, clean, and fasting. Do not be in heat or nursing, dogs must be carried on a leash and cats in a carrier.

The municipal official added that they will be operating medium-sized dogs only; in the case of small breeds, such as pugs or Chihuahuas, and those weighing more than 20 kilos, he invited the owners to keep an eye on the next event.

Finally, the deputy director of Ecology thanked those owners who have shown total responsibility for the physical, emotional, and social well-being of their pets, this includes sterilization, which reduces the risk of certain health problems in their animals and contributes to controlling the animal population, among other benefits.
