Children can become mini-guides of the Music Palace in Mérida

The Music Palace invites girls and boys between the ages of 5 and 11 to participate in an exciting course designed to turn them into “Mini Guides” of the Interactive Museum. The main objective of this initiative is to promote identity with their cultural space and allow, through their language and perspective, the mini-guides to offer guided tours to other children on special occasions.

The course will take place from April 27 to May 12, on Saturdays and Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the facilities of the Interactive Museum of the Palace of Music. During this period, participants will receive special instruction on the various stages of popular and traditional Mexican music displayed in the museum’s rooms and will be encouraged to choose their favorite room.

At the end of the training, participants will be prepared to offer, as a group and through their perception, language, and perspective, meaningful and inspiring guided tours of the museum for other children.

This course, which has been carried out since 2018 and celebrates its ninth generation, has demonstrated positive results by creating a solid bond of identity, belonging, and appreciation for both the museum and Mexican music. Registration for this course will be open from April 13. Those interested must pay a fee of $150. Registrations can be made from Wednesday to Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., in person at the museum reception.
