At the end of the Easter holidays, which lasted from March 23 to April 7 (16 days), official reports from Cultur indicate that in the places where it has a Parador it received 213,075 tourists, including locals, nationals, and foreigners.
Of that figure, it indicates in a statement, that 134,700 were visitors who were in Chichén Itzá, an archaeological zone that once again is confirmed as the tourist place par excellence in Yucatán. That amount represents 63% of the total.
The above means that on average, Chichén had, in the indicated period, 8,419 visitors each day.
The lowest influx occurred on March 23 with 5,085 and the highest of 13,698 occurred on March 31.
On this occasion, the second most visited site was Uxmal with 18,483, 9% of the total, and was followed by Pasaje “Picheta” which received 17,473 people (8%).
Fourth place was obtained by the tourist inn of “El Corchito”, in Progreso, with a record of 8,209 visitors (4%).
In fifth place was the archaeological zone of Ek Balam, which reported an income of 8,044 people (4%).
Among all other tourist sites, such as the Zací Market, the Meteorite Museum, the Casa Manzanero Museum, as well as the Celestún, Chocholá, and Halachó inns, they received 26,166 visitors (12% of the total).
For various reasons, there are tourist sites that are closed to the public, such as Dzibilchaltún, temporarily, and others that have remained closed since 2023, such as the Lol Tún grottoes, the Balankanché archaeological zone and the Uaymitún viewpoint. The Dzitnup Inn, where the X’Kekén and Samulá cenotes are located, was concessioned last year to a private individual and is no longer part of Cultur’s statistics.
