Brother of “El Mencho” leaves prison, FGR declared they will appeal

As previously posted on The Yucatan Times, members of the Mexican armed forces arrested Abraham Oseguera, the brother of Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera in the municipality of Autlán de Navarro, in Jalisco, Mexico.

However, on Tuesday, April 30th, Abraham Oseguera (aka “Don Rodo”), was released from prison after a judge’s decision not to link him to the trial, alleging irregularities in his arrest.

Therefore, the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic reported that they would appeal the release against the people who, they accuse of helping “Don Rodo” to be released.

The Attorney General’s Office specifically accused Judge Rogelio Díaz, who decreed Oseguera’s freedom, of not fully considering the investigation file delivered by the Prosecutor’s Office.

Abraham Oseguera is accused by the Prosecutor’s Office of money laundering, trafficking, and sale of drugs, and of being one the main leaders in command of the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG).

Furthermore, at the time of his arrest, he was charged with the crimes of illegal possession of firearms and crimes against health because he had been captured flagrante delicto in possession of large quantities of drugs.
