VALLADOLID, YUCATAN (April 9, 2024).- The manager of a SIX establishment in Valladolid confronted a group of men who tried to rob the place with knives and machetes; however, although he managed to thwart the robbery, a girl was injured.

What happened at first is that a solitary subject entered the store located on Calle 21 (between 22 and 20), in the Fernando Novelo neighborhood and tried to steal bottles of alcoholic beverages, but the manager confronted him and prevented him from removing the product.

Minutes later, the brothers of the first subject arrived, with machetes and knives, and they believed that they were going to intimidate the manager, but he took out a compressed air gun and told them that if they tried to take the product, he would shoot them.

There was a struggle, the gun was activated and a girl who was inside the premises was shot in the leg, but luckily it was not serious. The affected person immediately notified the emergency services, and paramedics from the Municipal Police arrived at the scene.

Police officers also arrived and arrested one of the three criminals.

For his part, the person in charge of the business promised to pay for the girl’s medical expenses, and said that a few days ago his security camera captured the sister of one of these men stealing beer.

Several residents of the area demand greater vigilance from the Municipal Police since they claim that robberies and assaults have increased significantly in Valladolid.
