An 8-year-old boy loses his life after an accident in Mérida-Celestún

A tragedy occurred this Monday, April 1st, in Celestún as a family suffered a serious car accident: the result is a deceased child and a teenager who reportedly lost her arm.

The events occurred this Monday shortly after noon, when a family from Mérida was traveling to Celestún to spend the day, however, five minutes before reaching the port, near kilometer 85, the driver who was traveling with his wife, children, and nephew, apparently he went too far.

That caused the truck to leave the pavement and lose control of the steering wheel, flipping several times to end up upside down.

Three minors, aged eight, 13, and 9, were traveling in the vehicle. Unfortunately, the first lost his life instantly, while the second suffered an amputation of her limb. The third minor was unharmed, as were the driver and his companion.

State emergency elements and municipal paramedics arrived in this area to help the survivors.

It should be noted that because this is a very narrow road, accidents constantly occur; Even in that section, three road incidents were recently recorded.
