The new national president of the Mexican Export Industry Association (Index), Humberto Martínez Cantú, presented good news to Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal: he will bring the national convention of this sector to Mérida this year and will promote Yucatán to investors from Saudi Arabia and China who will visit the country.
The newly elected president of the Index came to Mérida together with his national director Carlos Valencia Escalante and in the company of the local president of Index, Alejandro Guerrero Lozano, they held a meeting with Governor Vila Dosal.
First, to present his credentials as national leader of Index, and second, to keep his word that if elected he would designate Mérida as the headquarters of the national convention of the sector, an event that will take place from September 18 to 21 of this year.
This event is of a high level due to the quality of the speakers who will talk about topics of national interest such as economic, political, investment, and security.
Between 900 and 1,000 businessmen, executives, and investors from Mexico, the United States, Canada, and other parts of the world who have companies in national territory will come to this event.
Generally, conventioneers come accompanied by their families, so their stay is at least a week because they enjoy tourist places in the state, as well as its safety and gastronomy.
Guerrero Lozano said that Governor Vila Dosal is interested in bringing new investments, new sectors, and companies, and he will do so with the help of national and local indices.
Martínez Cantú, with 51 years in the export industry in Mexico, pointed out that he knows Governor Vila Dosal from the events he attends.
In one of them, he offered that if he became the national president of Index, the first thing he would do was take the national convention to Mérida for its good public security and tourist diversity. And that was finally fulfilled with the announcement that Mérida will host this important event for the export industry.
He also informed the governor that a delegation of Arab investors who intend to make multimillion-dollar investments in Mexico is visiting.
