Mexican Army and National Guard to reinforce security in Tulum

Their mission is to reverse crime and homicide rates linked to organized crime.

More than 200 agents of the Mexican Army and National Guard were deployed to carry out operations in coordination with local authorities, in order to inhibit the activities of organized crime and address security problems in the municipality of Tulum, Quintana Roo.

According to the statement, the main mission of the military personnel is to join the Regional Task Force, to carry out planning and intelligence work that strengthens the rule of law and ñaunch ground and deterrent reconnaissance patrols in the municipality of Tulum, and to collaborate with local authorities of the three levels of government, to reverse crime rates and homicides linked to organized crime, acting with full respect for Human Rights at all times.

The military personnel that make up the Regional Task Force, stand out for their great mobility and deployment capacity, weapons, material, equipment and training, which reinforces the inter-institutional operations in coordination with state and municipal authorities, both in urban areas and in hotels and surrounding roads.

It is necessary to point out that the military personnel will act firmly at all times, carrying out tasks of deterrence, prevention, reconnaissance patrols and deployment of military security strategies in different posts, that generate an environment of tranquility in the population of Quintana Roo and the national and international tourism that visit this important region of the country.
