Fatal motorcyle accident in the south of Merida

A tragic accident left two families in mourning on Tuesday, March 12th, as two motorcyclists lost their lives after crashing into each other at the intersection of 127th Street between 70 and 72 in Merida’s San Antonio Xluch neighborhood.

According to eyewitnesses, a delivery man was driving his motorcycle along 127th Street from west to east, but when he reached the intersection where the incident occurred.

The motorcyclist allegedly tried to pass a car, but invaded the other lane, and ended up crashing head-on into another motorcyclist.

Due to the strong impact, the two men were left lying on the pavement next to their vehicles.

Moments later, SSP paramedics arrived, but unfortunately, they could only confirm that both men no longer had vital signs.

Agents from the Ministry of Public Security cordoned off the area and reported it to the corresponding authorities.

Staff from the State Attorney General’s Office and Semefo arrived at the scene and took charge of collecting evidence, while Forensics experts from the SEMEFO took the bodies to the morgue.
