Extreme heat is expected for Easter Sunday in the Yucatan Peninsula

The weather conditions for this weekend will be ideal for enjoying the last days of vacation with freshness thanks to cold front 42, but soon the extreme heat will return to the Yucatan Peninsula.

Well, atmospheric instability will likely return to the region next week, reported Juan Antonio Palma Solís, coordinator of Meteored México.

Weather in Yucatan on March 30 and 31
He warned that from the outset, for this Saturday, March 30,
and Sunday, March 31, the probability of rain will be very low, if not zero, due to the influence of high surface pressure.

Likewise, the maximum temperature values will rise to the range of 36 °C to 41 °C, mainly in western Yucatán, Campeche and central Tabasco, in addition to the winds being from the east-southeast and southeast from 10 to 40 km/h.

Despite the evident thermal increase, at sunrise these days the “xix” of the continental polar air mass that drove cold front 42 will be perceived, since minimum temperatures of 15 °C to 20 °C are estimated.

The lack of precipitation will continue for the beginning of April, as an anticyclone in the middle levels of the troposphere will establish itself just over the Yucatan Peninsula.

Goodbye cold front, extreme heat returns to Yucatán
As if that were not enough, maximum temperature values will begin to exceed 42 °C in some areas and a gust event of 20 to 50 km/h will begin, without ruling out higher gusts, especially in Quintana Roo and the northeast of Yucatán.

While the region burns, a new cold front is expected to enter the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, April 3, this new frontal system will extend from the east coast of the United States to southern Veracruz.

This will induce a prefrontal trough that, in combination with the excessive diurnal surface warming expected for that day, will cause some scattered showers and isolated storms in the Yucatan Peninsula and Tabasco.
