MÉRIDA, Yucatán.- The driver of a Suzuki Swift compact car suffered an accident on the Mérida-Umán highway while trying to avoid a truck that suddenly invaded her lane.
The authorities indicated that the accident occurred during the morning of this Monday, March 25th when the driver of the Suzuki Swift compact vehicle was traveling from south to north towards Umán. But upon reaching kilometer 12, a double-trailer suddenly, and without any precaution, invaded both lanes.
The woman said that she tried to avoid being hit by the heavy unit and slammed on the brakes, which caused her to lose control of the steering wheel and climb onto the central median.
Due to the speed and the impact, the car not only rolled once, but it rolled further before stopping on its left side, leaving the woman trapped.
Agents and paramedics from the Umán Municipal Police arrived at the scene, assessed the young woman and cordoned off the area to avoid another mishap. The balance was only material damage, and fortunately, no one resulted injured.
