Brother and sister rescued from drowning on Yucatecan beach

A young man and his little sister were swept away by ocean currents while visiting “Marmota” beach, located on the Santa Clara-Chabihau stretch, right by the road. They almost drowned.

Thanks to the intervention of witnesses, they managed to be rescued and then handed over to paramedics who transferred them to the Agustín ‘Horán Hospital in Mérida.

The young man and his little sister arrived at that area and entered the sea, but the current began to pull them out to sea until they could no longer get out.

Both began to drown, and other people who were nearby went to help them and they were able to take them to the beach, where paramedics were already waiting for them.

Finally, they were stabilized and then sent to Merida’s Agustin O’Horán Hospital, where the girl is apparently is still under observation.
