Faced with the protests of the state police of Campeche, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador came out in defense of Governor Layda Sansores, to whom he offered his full support and trust; In addition, he recommended that the agents not allow themselves to be manipulated and invited them to reach an agreement.

From the National Palace, the head of the Executive asked the “manipulators” of these state police protests in Campeche to play fair.

López Obrador urged the Campeche police officers to have confidence in the governor because if there were abuses of authority, these would be punished.

The Campeche Police have been on strike for almost two weeks to demand the dismissal of Governor Layda Sansores and the Secretary of Security, Marcela Muñoz, as well as requests for working conditions improvements, after the riot at a State Prison in San Francisco Kobén, on March 15, where several agents were attacked by interns.
