Once again, Yucatán is the focus of the tourism world because, in the 2023 edition of the Food and Travel Readers Awards, which rewards the best of hospitality tourism in Mexico, there is Yucatecan representation.
To begin with, Mérida competes in the category of Best Destination in Mexico, Luis Ronzón as Best New Chef, Kinich as Best Consolidated Restaurant in Mexico, and Chablé as Best Sustainable Hotel.
Although Yucatán is participating in four, in total there are 28 categories with approximately 150 nominees between them; Food and Travel voting will be open until February 9, so there is still time to vote for the Yucatecan representation, the awards will be next February 22.
This is the eighth edition of these awards and 62 specialists in the hospitality industry, all recognized in their field, were in charge of making the nominations together with the editorial board of Food and Travel, so it is undoubtedly on the list, only the best of the best.
It should be noted that this is not the first time that Yucatán has been represented in this type of award. A few days ago, the Micaela Mar y Leña restaurant located on popular 47th Street received the award for Best Restaurant of the Year 2024 from the Mexican Culinary Industry, forming part of the 250 Restaurants Guide.
At that same event, the Ixi’im restaurant in Izamal, of which Luis Ronzón is the chef, was also recognized as part of the 250 Mexican Culinary Restaurants for the sixth consecutive year.
