Xóchitl Gálvez meets with Pope Francis at the Vatican

The opposition presidential candidate Xóchitl Gálvez visited Pope Francis in Vatican City this Thursday .

According to the candidate’s campaign team, Gálvez Ruiz met privately in Vatican City with Pope Francis, “who reaffirmed his faith in God and the Catholic Church.”

During the meeting, which took place in the Domus Sanctae Marthae , the house where the Supreme Pontiff lives, they held a cordial and profound dialogue, exchanging various points of view on the “throwaway culture”, which consists of the marginalization of everything that does not produces, as well as about various crises facing humanity .

According to the candidate’s team, the Holy Father expressed to Gálvez: “I am glad that you have the courage that you have” and added that “it is difficult to be a ruler; We must not be carried away by the song of the sirens… Leaders have the responsibility of leading the people. I wish him the best of success,” the Pope said during the conversation. He also revealed that they had talked about their love for soccer.

Gálvez was accompanied to the meeting by her husband Rubén, as well as her children Juan Pablo and Diana.
