Tragedy on the Mexico-Toluca Interurban Train: workers die after falling from a platform

Two workers of the Mexico-Toluca Interurban Train fell from a 10-meter-high platform, located on a pile at the Vasco de Quiroga station; one of them died and the other was taken to a hospital.

According to the first police reports, the workers were carrying out welding maneuvers on one of the concrete tubular bases at the works of the “El Insurgente” Train at the Vasco de Quiroga station, located on Primera Cerrada Vasco de Quiroga and Cerrada Segunda streets. from Vasco de Quiroga, in the Lomas de Santa Fe neighborhood, Álvaro Obregón mayor’s office.

That is when the men fell from a platform approximately 10 to 15 meters high. Units from the quadrant and personnel from the Banking and Industrial Police arrived at the scene and reported that they were unconscious.

After the emergency call, paramedics from the Medical Emergency Rescue and Squadron (ERUM) of the Mobile 065 medical unit arrived, and assessed a 28-year-old worker who had severe injuries to his skull, for which he was transferred to the ABC Hospital.

While the other 35-year-old worker no longer had vital signs, the place was cordoned off while experts from the Attorney General’s Office of the corresponding Territorial Coordination arrived, where they will continue the investigations.
