The search continues for missing fishermen on the coast of Celestún

The Secretary of the Navy (Semar) reported that a boat reported missing off the coast of Celestún for several days was found, with two crew members on board who were left without an engine and communication routes due to the attack by modern “pirates.”

The Mexican Navy also reported that another ship, called JCCDR-1, is still adrift, which was also reported missing for several days, with Manuel C. U., 40, on board; Eligio P. and Ángel E. C., who had to return to the port since last Sunday and have not yet done so.

Unofficial sources close to the Secretary of the Navy assured that the search work has not stopped; it was indicated that the operation in which the boat “Lizandro 1” was found also included the search for the ship that remains missing, therefore, the search continues to be active to try to find the whereabouts of the seamen.

It should be remembered that the operation is carried out by sea and air, in a coordinated effort between the Defender-type vessel and a Persuader-type aircraft, both Navy search and rescue. The agency also indicated that it will continue the search for the fishermen to preserve their integrity and be able to bring them to land as soon as possible.
