The Municipal President recalled that the Municipal Veterinary Clinic and the Municipal Animal Care Center (CEMAA) were inaugurated in November, to offer better facilities and quality service, preventive medicine services such as Veterinary consultation for dogs and cats (not emergencies), deworming, rabies vaccine, minor cures and evaluations for the different sterilization campaigns.
“These services are offered in the three offices of the Veterinary Clinic, where they provide care from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.,” he said.
The rabies vaccination is free, while the consultation costs $15, the veterinary consultation with medication costs $40, the extra medication costs $25, and deworming costs $35.
Additionally, CEMAA responds to citizen reports of street dogs, has a quarantine area, an area for puppies, as well as an adoption area with a recreation area for adoptable animals that allows interaction with their future owners.
Alejandra Bolio Rojas, director of the Sustainable Development Unit, stressed that the services offered at the Municipal Veterinary Clinic join those of the veterinary modules located in the Chichén Itzá neighborhood and in the Peek Park in Juan Pablo that offer care. to the public from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The official reported that during 2024, between the 3 locations, nearly 400 veterinary consultations have been granted to the same number of pets, with rabies vaccines being the most requested by the more than 300 citizens who have attended the modules. . Added to these actions are the different sterilization days that are already carried out in different parts of the city and police stations.
In addition to the activities carried out by the Municipal Veterinary Clinic, the Animal Surveillance Brigade is in charge of promoting the culture of non-violence against animals, rescuing animals at risk or that endanger citizens, receiving citizen complaints against people who illegally traffic wildlife or carry out acts of cruelty against animals, as established by this Regulation and the Official Mexican Standard.
