On Sunday, February 11th, during the traditional parade and El Recodo concert, the Progreso Municipal Police deployed an intense security operation, to take care of the integrity of all attendees.

According to official figures from the Directorate of Public Security and Transit (DSPT), during the 24-hour operation, which began at midnight on Saturday, and ended at 11:59 pm on Sunday, various events were recorded that were attended by Progreso Municipal Police officers.

There were 2 minor traffic accidents, in which no injuries were reported.

In terms of disturbances, there were a total of 15 on public roads, with a balance of 20 people arrested. One of these cases was minutes before the feature presentation of Banda El Recodo, which was, of course, the main event of the evening.

On the other hand, in terms of health emergencies, the paramedic team treated 30 people, of which 26 received first aid and 4 had to be transferred to the hospital due to the seriousness of their injuries.

There were eight faintings, nine heat strokes, five people whose blood pressure dropped, while two had high blood pressure, and one person fell.

Additionally, four people were stung or bitten by insects, and one more sprained his ankle.

Two lost minors were reunited with their parents in Progreso

Due to the excessive influx of people, two kids got lost from their families, but they were quickly helped by municipal police officers, who took them to their parents.

In addition to the medical care area, coordinated by the Municipal Police, the National Emergency Commission, and the Progreso delegation of the Red Cross, the Ecological Police also provided their support to maintain tranquility on Progreso’s boardwalk during the Carnival.
