The Mérida 2024 Carnival began with a great atmosphere, thousands of people gathered on the ground floor of the Municipal Palace to witness the burning of bad mood, which marks the beginning of the carnival festivities.

It all began with the recognition of King Momo who on this occasion was given to the singer Morita, for his extensive artistic career and because he is undoubtedly part of Yucatecan culture.

Later the fireworks marked the beginning of the party and the music from the band Merenglass was heard. The attendees immediately showed their joy and began to move into their seats.

With dance and songs, they started the engines and made those present stand up and follow the choreographies that they marked on stage.

The carnival activities are just beginning, with the children’s parade, on Thursday, February 8th.

On Friday, February 9th renowned American DJ, remixer, and record producer Steve Aoki will perform in front of thousands of Yucatecans who are looking forward to enjoying this long-expected show.

On Sunday, February 11th, the American Latin pop duo from Lake Charles, Louisiana Ha–Ash will take the stage as one of the main events at this year’s Carnaval.
