Job creation increases by 8 percent in Yucatan

During 2023, nearshoring had a positive impact on the state economy.

The leading online job board in Mexico, presented the report on the labor outlook in Yucatán during 2023, where it announced that on its platform the state is in 12th place nationally in job creation, registering 13,458 offers of employment, which represents an increase of 8% compared to 2022.

According to the governor of Yucatán, Mauricio Vila Dosal, during 2023 nearshoring had a positive impact on the economy, employment, innovation and development of the state, positioning the entity as a benchmark in the IT sector. Information in Mexico and in the world, attracting investments and generating job opportunities.

In its report, OCC announced that the areas within the companies that requested the most jobs in the entity, the Sales area concentrated 26% of the vacancies offered in 2023. Followed by Administration (10%), Accounting- Finance (9%), Logistics-Transportation-Distribution-Warehouse (8%), Human Resources (8%), Construction-Real Estate-Architecture (6%), Information Technology-Systems (5%), Manufacturing-Production– Operation (5%), Engineering (4%) and Customer Service – Call Center (3%).

Regarding the salaries published in Yucatán, OCC reported that in 2023 the largest number of job positions were found between $10,000 and $20,000 pesos (46%), followed by those between $5,000 and $10,000 pesos (28%), then those greater than $20,000 pesos (22%) and finally offers of up to $5,000 pesos (4%).
