The new flights — from New York’s JFK — will operate daily starting on June 13, 2024 and are $149 until Dec. 15.
JetBlue became the latest airline on Thursday to expand service to the popular Mexican vacation spot Tulum.
The airline will launch service between its hub at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and the new Felipe Carrillo Puerto Tulum International Airport next year, the carrier announced. The new flights will operate daily starting on June 13, 2024.
“With picturesque beaches and vibrant cultural heritage, Tulum has proven to be a destination in demand by seamlessly blending ancient and modern, in a country that continues to lead with world-class hospitality,” David Jehn, vice president of network planning and airline partnerships at JetBlue, said in a statement. “With the new international airport in Tulum, we are able to bring our customers where they want to go, arriving and departing in a brand new, modern, and convenient airport facility while offering the great service and low fares JetBlue is known for.”
The new flights will take off from New York at 7:55 a.m. each day and return from Mexico at 12:45 p.m. on an Airbus A320 aircraft.
Tulum will mark the fourth destination in Mexico for JetBlue, complementing the airline’s current flights to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and Los Cabos. Beyond New York, the carrier flies to Mexico from Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Los Angeles, Tampa, Newark, and Raleigh.
To celebrate the new route, JetBlue is offering flights to Tulum starting at just $149 one-way. To take advantage of the deal, these flights must be booked by Dec. 15 and are valid for travel on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from June 17, 2024, through Oct. 30, 2024.
Tulum’s Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport just opened for the first time last December. The new JetBlue route joins direct flights from several other major airlines to the city planned for next year, including Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, American Airlines, and Spirit Airlines.
