The most representative of Oaxacan culture can be enjoyed at the “Oaxaca and Guelaguetza in Mérida” festival, which will be held in Santa Ana Park in 2024.
As every year, it is expected that attendees at this exhibition will be able to enjoy various cultural events such as the music of Oaxacan and Yucatecan troubadours. Artists, including musicians and dancers, participate in the Guelaguetza in Mérida.
This year the Oaxaca Festival and the Guelaguetza in Mérida can be enjoyed from February 16 to March 3, 2024, its headquarters will be the Parque de Santa Ana. The festival is open from 9 in the morning to 10 at night. Entry is free.
During the cultural exhibition, people who attend will be able to find a wide variety of Oaxacan products such as typical clothing, filigree from the Isthmus, black clay, and alebrijes.
Oaxacan gastronomy will be one of the protagonists at the event, where it will be possible to enjoy tlayudas, tamales, quesadilla, grasshoppers, mezcals, and mole negro; Traditional snows cannot be missed either.
You can also buy products to make tlayudas at home. They sell tortillas, sauces, beef jerky (tasajo), enchiladas, and chorizos, all with the flavor of the region.
