The mobilization of the fire department was very noticeable on the Mérida-Motul highway at kilometer 12 when a thick cloud of smoke was visible, which caused the mobilization of municipal Civil Protection and of the Municipal Police of Mocochá.

According to the report, a fire broke out on the side of the Mérida-Motul section of the road, apparently caused by a cigarette butt.

Units 809 and 856 of the Mérida base fire department arrived at the scene, where they immediately took on the task of controlling this fire, as they managed to prevent it from entering the undergrowth that was found in some ranches.

The Mocochá Municipal Police took on the task of providing security to the firefighters who were carrying out their work to control the fire that lasted just over two hours until it was totally under control thanks to the work of Municipal Civil Protection personnel and firefighters.

A few days after the high temperatures began, the first fire was already recorded on this section of the Mérida-Motul federal highway at kilometer 12, so a lot of activity is expected for the fire departments that will work in coordination with State and Municipal Civil Protection agencies.
