Claudia Sheinbaum, presidential candidate for Morena, PVEM and PT, canceled at the last minute the “Dialogue for Transformation” forum , which was supposed to take place with Yucatecan business leaders in Mérida.
According to the version of several guests, who declined to give their names, since they only served as guests and not as organizers of the meeting; The event was to take place on Sunday, February 25, but those summoned received a call on Saturday, Feb. 24, informing them of the cancellation of this forum.
The invitation was sent to several leaders of private sector chambers in Yucatán since last February 14 to attend the forum called “Dialogue for Transformation”, with Claudia Sheinbaum presidential candidate of Morena, PVEM and PT, on Sunday, Feb. 25.
However, the local business leaders were notified by telephone on Saturday, Feb. 24, that the event was postponed to another date pending to be defined.
Morena Yucatán and its leader Joaquín Díaz Mena, candidate for governor of the State of Yucatan for the Morena, PVEM and PT parties did not provide a reason for the cancellation.
For their part, the business leaders stated that what they knew about the event was that the national candidate sought to have a rapprochement with the Yucatecan business sector, and present her proposals related to the economic development of the State, in a conference called “Dialogue for Transformation.”
Apparently the event had been divided into three panel tables in which national panelists would participate, to address the topics of Housing, Rule of Law and Economic Infrastructure.
Among the organizers of this event, Altagracia Gómez, in charge of coordinating the event in Mérida, was not available to provide an answer related to the cancellation of the event.
However, the Yucatecan businessmen reported that one day before the event, on Saturday, Feb. 24, they were notified by telephone that it was postponed until a new date pending to be defined. Although it seemed to them that the event was just cancelled.
