The national collection, which runs from February 21 to May 31, has the motto “We are all heroes,” and seeks to raise funds to support the activities of the Mexican Red Cross and continue saving lives.

Ambulance donation

This week, the donation of resources for 1 million pesos will be submitted to the Mérida Council for approval so that this Institution can acquire a new ambulance equipped to reinforce rescue and emergency work.

Cetina Arjona highlighted the importance of citizen contribution and announced the donation of resources by the Cabildo of Mérida, which will allow the acquisition of an ambulance equipped to strengthen aid, rescue, and emergency work.

Mario Molina Esquivel, President of the Mexican Red Cross Mérida Delegation, urged citizens to join the national campaign, which this year resumes after suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Molina Esquivel shared that in Yucatán, the Red Cross provided thousands of free emergency and medical care services last year, and this year they hope to collect funds mainly to renew ambulances.

As part of the joint work, the extension of first aid training was announced until August, with more than 70 training courses available that will benefit 1,400 workers. In addition, an agreement was signed with the Directorate of Health and Social Welfare for psychology students to carry out their social service at this institution.

The national “We Are All Heroes” campaign represents an opportunity for the Mérida community to demonstrate its solidarity and support for the Mexican Red Cross in its important humanitarian work.
